Madame Clicquot singlehandedly brought her wine business back from the edge by writing letters to clients worldwide, enticing and enchanting them into buying a bottle of her signature blend. While the six bottles of vintage Champagne – a Brut and Brut Rosé from 1989, 2004 and 2008 – four crystal glasses, leather serving tray and private invitation to Champagne to visit Veuve Clicquot’s Château might be the first things to catch your eye, look closer at the exquisite Champagne bucket. One of the largest items ever to be carved out of a single block of crystal, Baccarat’s work of art mimics a large inkwell, paying homage to Madame Clicquot’s chosen marketing method. A labour of love, it took two years to develop and over 1,000 hours to craft – showing the same drive that the woman herself demonstrated over 200 years ago.
